About Amannachi
Amannachi is an Autonomous Community in Orsu Local Government. It is made up of six villages: Ubahangwo, Okworokwu, Umuzike, Umunankwo, Edebor and Umugama.
These six villages trace their ancestry to the six sons of Nnachi, the first son of Eberechi and the ancestor of Amannachi. From those six ancestral lines grew the families, kindreds and villages that make up the community today.
Amannachi carries a rich history preserved through oral tradition, living customs and festivals, and a strong sense of unity that continues to guide community development.
History
According to oral tradition, the people of Amannachi trace their ancestry to Nnachi, eldest son of Eberechi, the ancestor of the former Ebenator people.
Eberechi journeyed from Umuho Okabia to Ubaha Ihioma with his mother after his father's early death. Denied land in both places, he left Ihioma with youths and warriors and established a settlement at Obom, in Eluama. There his first son, Nnachi, was born and Nnachi's lineage grew into the six villages of Amannachi.

Chief Augustine Ihedi of Ubahangwo Village, Amannachi, is one of the candidates seeking the position of Nnachi I of Amannachi in the ongoing Eze selection process.

The Nkwoala Market Development is a community priority aimed at improving commerce within Amannachi, attracting development to the community, and strengthening the local economy.
As the market grows, it is expected to serve traders, farmers and families across the six villages and beyond.
